Liberalism’s base is noble: faith in humanity, concern for those less fortunate, standing for justice.

Consider the Civil Rights Movement.  Things aren’t perfect, but the movement was successful and liberalism played an important role in dismantling racism in the South.

The Civil Rights Movement was a clash of cultures.  On one side, white Southern culture valued segregation of races, saw “whites” as superior to “blacks,” and maintained practices and beliefs we now see as “racist.”  On the other side stood the culture of equality.

Liberalism recognized that one side was right, the other wrong.  As Martin Luther King, Jr. put it, liberalism “had a moral obligation to remind [the white man] that segregation is wrong.”

Present-day liberalism, however, is different.  It feigns moral relativism, a belief in the validity of “both sides.”  This is dishonest, for liberalism invariably chooses sides.  It is also erroneous, denying the existence of facts and our ability to distinguish right from wrong.

Liberals of MLK’s era understood two things lost to modern liberalism.  First, right and wrong exist.  Second, our moral obligation is to stand for what is right.

Those liberals understood the error of thinking everyone has a “different truth,” each equally valid.  They recognized good and evil.  They joined MLK in “a courageous confrontation of evil.”

But you can’t confront evil if nothing is true.  And if nothing is true, then facts don’t matter.

Disregard for facts skews modern liberalism’s understanding of Israel .  Liberals often ask, “What about the poor Palestinians?”  Yet they don’t ask about facts.  They know that “Palestinians” are oppressed, so they blame Israel .  Yet the facts belie this conclusion.

From 1920 to the 1940s, the League of Nations and the UN created several new countries, including Jordan , Saudi Arabia , Iraq , Lebanon , and Palestine .  Additionally, three countries were re-created that existed for centuries before being subsumed into other empires: Egypt , Syria , and Israel.

Only Palestine failed to materialize.  Why?  Because the massive and united Arab nations invaded and tried to eliminate Israel .  Miraculously, the Arab Goliath failed to exterminate tiny Israel , but Syria , Egypt , and Jordan grabbed for themselves the lands slated to become Palestine. ” had never existed).  Anti-Israeli terrorists suddenly invented the goal of “Palestinian Liberation” (doublespeak for eliminating Israel ).  The Arab/Israeli conflict became the “Palestinian/Israeli” conflict (to hide the murderous Arab giant and portray Israel as oppressor).  Terrorist murderers became “freedom fighters;” terrorism became “an act of desperation.”  Samaria and Judea became “the West Bank” (avoiding the absurdity of forbidding Jews to live in Judea ).

The Arab invasion created a million refugees, half Arabs and half Jews.  Israel absorbed the Jews as citizens.  However, the Arab nations – not Israel – forced Arab refugees into camps, regarding the refugees as tools to destroy Israel .  The Arabs have oppressed and abused these refugees for generations, all the while blaming “evil Zionists.”

That’s how to make terrorists.

Meanwhile, Israel relentlessly sought peace.  The murderous Arab Goliath, however, relentlessly sought to destroy Israel .  The stated goal: “to finish Hitler’s work.”

Then another miracle happened.   Israel liberated the lands previously seized by Syria , Egypt , and Jordan .  For the first time in history, Arabs in Gaza , Samaria , and Judea experienced peace, prosperity, freedom.

The Arabs focused on a new strategy: propaganda; deceive the world; the “Big Lie.”  Arab refugees became “Palestinian Arabs” (though all Arab nations previously insisted that “ Palestine

It worked.  People forgot that innocent, peace-loving Israel defends itself against the massive, homicidal maniac of the Arab world.

Israel then made two mistakes.  First, Israel didn’t reform education in Gaza , Samaria , and Judea .  Arab schools continued the same hate-filled, anti-Semitic curriculum taught throughout the Arab world.

Israel’s second mistake?  It believed the Arab propaganda, accepting Arafat as a legitimate leader.  In a catastrophic move, Israel turned over Gaza , Samaria , and Judea to Arafat.

This butcher and his henchmen destroyed Palestinian economy and declared the current terrorism war against Israel .  They brutalize and murder Arabs seeking peace.  They have increased dramatically the indoctrination of Arab youth to a culture of hatred and death.

History repeated.  Again, totalitarian Arab leaders subject “Palestinians” to anguish and oppression while blaming Israel .  Again, Israel faces treacherous murderers intent on her destruction.

Wake up.

The Arab goal has always been to oust the Jewish presence from what the racist Islamic/Arab world sees as “Arab land.”  The Arab nations are focused and patient.  Their objective: to destroy Israel and exterminate its Jewish citizens.

Can modern liberalism stand against this evil – against the relentless Arab effort to destroy beautiful and peace-loving Israel through war, economic boycott, dishonest diplomacy, propaganda, and terror?

Israel justly defends its citizens and demands its right to exist in peace and the right of Jews to be equal members of humanity.  Failure to support Israel against those who seek to destroy her would be a colossal human and spiritual blunder.
